15th August 2018

Hello and welcome to VET News,

Well, after two years in development, we are very proud to announce that our new cloud based student management software is available to the market. After trying for about six months to think of a sexy new name, we ended up with RTO Data Cloud (click). We do think this will be a game changer in the VET student management system market. We have commenced the process of moving our current client over to the new system and have already begun taking on new clients. We are super excited about this new service to the sector.

In September this year (13-14 Sep 2018), I am attending and presenting at the National VET Conference hosted by VELG Training which is back in Adelaide in 2018! Adelaide is such a great place to hold a conference. A bunch of Newbery Consulting staff will be in attendance other than me including Sarah, Bree, Kate and Jennifer. Please come up and say hi if you are there. Sarah has been practicing her dance moves for the “Dance Off” competition held during the Welcome Function. She is an absolute weapon on the dance floor so good luck to other competitors!

Now, on the 13th Sep, I am presenting a talk on “The Future of Competency Based Assessment”. I would like to put a call out for anyone doing exciting work in the use of technology in the conduct of competency assessment. I am particularly interested on the use of web applications, artificial intelligence, cloud computing and augmented/virtual reality. If you or someone you know is working in this space, I would love to connect with them. Very happy to give appropriate acknowledgements, etc.

Good Training,

Joe Newbery
