ASQA has observed a growing trend of providers failing to submit their registration renewal applications at least 90 days before their expiry date.
According to the NVR and ESOS Acts, a fully paid renewal of registration application must be submitted at least 90 days before expiry, unless ASQA, at their discretion, allow for a shorter timeframe. Requests for renewal submitted in less than 90 days may not be accepted.

Changes to visa requirements for students and student Guardian visas
Starting May 10, 2024, the financial threshold for eligibility for Student and Student Guardian visas will rise.
The updated financial capacity requirement will now correspond to 75 percent of the national minimum wage. This adjustment aims to reflect a suitable amount of funds necessary to maintain a basic standard of living while pursuing studies in Australia. The 75 percent proportion accounts for the fact that students are out of course session for 25 percent of the year, during which time they may return home or have access to unrestricted work opportunities.
