The national regulator has released a discussion paper about the ASQA Compliance Policy. Submissions are due by the 10th Jan 2021. It is a little unfortunate they have selected the busiest time of the year and the main holiday period to gather this feedback. I hope someone has time to respond!. ASQA releases consultation paper on draft compliance policy

ASQA has released a consultation paper on the draft ASQA Compliance Policy. Between 25 November 2020 and 10 January 2021, ASQA is seeking feedback from stakeholders on the draft ASQA Compliance Policy and undertakings to remedy through a consultation paper.

The draft ASQA Compliance Policy describes what a provider can expect from ASQA if we identify a non-compliance, and the range of regulatory tools we will use to ensure the provider addresses the non-compliance and has systems to monitor and ensure ongoing compliance.

2020 Australian Training Awards winners announced

The Australian Training Awards recognise apprentices, trainees, vocational education and training (VET) students, teachers, employers and training providers demonstrating excellence in VET.

Selected from a field of 75 finalists, the 17 winners of the Awards represent exceptional talent in the VET sector. The Awards were presented to nine individuals and eight businesses and registered training organisations.

Transport Industry Statistics

This paper provides information and data on the Transport industry which comprises four main industry sectors:

  • Aviation
  • Maritime
  • Rail
  • Transport and Logistics.

This paper shows that employment levels have generally risen between 2000 and 2019 for Transport related industries howeve,r levels have declined in 2020 for Road Transport, Air and Space Transport and Transport Support Services between 2019 and 2020.

This paper provides information and data on the Amenity Horticulture and Conservation industry. According to the Agriculture, Horticulture, Conservation and Land Management IRC’s 2019 Skills Forecast, the top generic skills for Agriculture are:

  • Learning agility/ information literacy/ intellectual autonomy and self-management (adaptability)
  • Managerial/leadership
  • Financial
  • Technology
  • Science, technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM) skills.

Labour Market Trend Updates

Recruitment Experiences and Outlook Snapshot

This latest snapshot includes some of the key trends over the September to October period. The proportion of employers recruiting has increased from 36 per cent in September to 43 per cent in October. The proportion of employers in capital cities and rest of state areas have both increased by 7 percentage points to 41 per cent and 46 per cent, respectively.

A growing proportion of employers also expected to increase their staffing levels in the coming months. In October, 24 per cent of employers expected to increase their staffing levels, up from 17 per cent in September. On the other hand, 3 per cent of employers expected to decrease their staffing levels down from 5 per cent in September.
