Newbery Consulting VET News – 3rd July 2019

Hello and welcome to VET News,

Wow! There has been a news explosion in the last two weeks. So, we are sending out this edition a little early.

Just a couple of things to note which are super important. If you have received an invoice from ASQA for the annual registration fee, pay it now! Seriously, last year I was contacted for assistance by at least four RTOs who had received letters informing them that ASQA was withdrawing their registration for not paying the annual registration charge by the due date. Do not allow that invoice to be buried in your email inbox. Get it paid today!

The article on the transition from AusKey to MyGov is one to take note of. Many of you will have set up a Device AusKey to enable your student management systems to verify the USI. This will be replaced early next year and this is just an early notice to expect this down the track.

There have been some interesting comments and observations coming out of the ASQA Provider Briefings that are currently underway. I am attending a Provider Briefing in Brisbane this Thursday. Very keen to hear their message for myself. I will be sure to take notes and provide you a summary via an article on the website. If you are attending the briefing in Brisbane this Thursday, please come up and say hi.

Good training,

Joe Newbery
